Cell phones keep us connected every minute of every day. Even the hours of the day we are at work. Supervisors are not as pleased with this. To keep the temptation to a minimum, here are some rules to keep your cellphone at work to a minimum.

Silence It

Turning your phone on silent is a no brainer. Keep your phone on silent mode. The whole office does not need to know how popular you are. Less attention will be brought in your direction from the buzzing instead of your ringtone blaring. Any vital call will be noticed, and all the things that can wait can be ignored.

Flip it Over

Flip your phone over on your desk or put it in the drawer. Out of sight, out of mind. Watching your phone light up over and over is a huge distraction. The next thing you know, you will be caught checking your social media or texting nonstop with a friend. Once you unlock your phone to check one thing, you know you will end up responding to all your notifications.

Set Times

Not checking your phone all day will make you less productive. Your mind will be focusing on what all the dings are instead of your work. Have times set aside during the workday that you know you can check and reply.

Get your cell phone use in check, and never lose a job over it again.
